ART FOR ALL! Intergenerational Saturday Series: Fairy, Knome and Goblin Homes!
ART FOR ALL! Intergenerational Saturday Series: Fairy, Gnome and Goblin Homes! This is our series of four-week workshops devoted to making art with friends and family! We are inviting artists of all ages to come with a friend of a different age: a preschooler and their grandfather, a ten-year-old and their big sister, a teen and their mom, and eighteen-year-old and a friend. These workshops are dedicated to the idea that making art is fun, and fun stuff is even more fun if you do it with someone you love. No experience in art making is required as we will all be working at our own pace and learning from one another.
This group of four-week workshops is Fairy, Gnome and Goblin Homes! Our inspiration for this month is the wild, earthly art of artist Andy Goldsworthy, who uses natural objects and materials to create wondrous sculptures in the environment. Each pair will work together to make small or medium sized hidden homes out of found objects and natural materials for your favorite tiny magical creatures, to display somewhere in your home or outside in the wild! Join us this spring for a wild rumpus of art and magic! (This class also joins the theme of the Wayne County Arts Alliance’s Summer Art Project, where local artists are creating homes like these for you to find in businesses and nature throughout Wayne County this summer!)
