Participants should be comfortable sitting on a cushioned floor to work. Ages 16 or above. A ten dollar donation is suggested. Four names will be listed below each date for convenience and planning. So far the following dates are offered below:
We will mindfully work to bring a compassionate and healing focus to our collective artwork by utilizing techniques and tools to deliver colored sand to the temporary table. Gravity is the only force holding the artwork in place. We will learn about this special art form and modify the symbolism from this tradition to match our culture and the needs we see in our community. When we have finally finished, we will offer a “destruction ceremony,” sending all the good energy we’ve created in the art work out to all beings everywhere. The work is available to the public for viewing and learning more about the process every Wednesday 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
