Many cultures believe in the powerful symbolism of animals and creatures. This
class will explore creatures around the world and the cultures that are influenced
by them. (Examples being the platypus in Aboriginal tribes or the raven in North
Pacific Native American tribes.( Each student will construct her or his own paper
mache creature. Students will learn techniques on building a 3-D form, creating
a textured exterior and painting. Emphasis will be on self exploration and what
personal characteristics (perhaps of their creature) they would like to develop
within themselves. We can’t wait to see you!
